Early Childhood Education

The Early Childhood Education program provides professional development and consultative services to ESC Region 12 customers in the areas of high quality prekindergarten programs and specially designed instruction for students with disabilities ages 3-5.

TEA Data Collection Schedule

State Performance Plan Indicator 6 reports the percent of children aged 3 through 5 with IEPs attending a:

A. Regular early childhood program and receiving the majority of special
education and related services in the regular early childhood program; and
B. Separate special education class, separate school or residential facility.

State Performance Plan Indicator 7 reports the percent of preschool children with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) who demonstrate improved: 

  • Positive social-emotional skills (including social relationships); 
  •  Acquisition and use of knowledge and skills (including early language/communication and early literacy); and 
  • Use of appropriate behaviors to meet their needs.

State Performance Plan Indicator 12: Early Childhood Transition

State Performance Plan (SPP) Indicator 12 measures the percentage of students referred by Part C/Early Childhood Intervention (ECI) prior to age 3 who are found eligible for Part B/District Special Education Services and who have an IEP (Individualized Education Program) developed and implemented by their third birthday.
