    2023 G/T Conference: Shifting The Perspective


    June 8-9, 2023  |  ESC Region 12


    We are excited to announce the upcoming Gifted and Talented Conference, with a theme centered around "Shifting the Perspective". This conference is designed to provide an opportunity for educators, administrators, and other professionals to come together and share ideas and best practices in the education of gifted and talented students.

    The conference will feature keynote speaker, Brian Housand, and workshops focused on innovative approaches to teaching and nurturing the unique needs and abilities of gifted students. The goal is to provide attendees with a fresh perspective on how to approach and engage with these students, and to help them discover new and creative ways to support their growth and development.
    This is an opportunity for attendees to network with other professionals, learn from experts in the field, and walk away with new tools and strategies to help support the growth and development of gifted and talented students.

  • Teen Suicide Prevention Symposium


    June 15  |  ESC Region 12 


    According to the Youth Behavioral Survey, teens across the nation have a suicide attempt rate of 7%. In Texas, that rate is almost double at 12%. Suicide has become the second-leading cause of death among teenagers in the United States. The Suicide Prevention Symposium is an annual event that brings together educators and community members in a forum to take action and help save the lives of challenged youth through awareness, intervention, and prevention. Community mental health experts will share research and experience-based information and local counselors and practitioners will explore resources to help keep our children safety.

    The Innovative Teaching and Learning Conference is aimed at empowering educators and school administrators with creative and effective ways to inspire and challenge their learners. This conference provides a platform for educators to discover the link between innovation and student success. The objective of the conference is to equip educators with innovative teaching techniques and strategies to revolutionize their teaching methods and bring new, engaging learning experiences to their classrooms.

        The keynote speaker is Dr. Nicole Law. She is a dynamic and passionate educator who provides relevant professional development to schools and districts across the country. Nicole focuses her experience to present instruction on school improvement practices and structures, metacognitive teaching and learning practices, strategies for success in cognitively rigorous instruction and levels of depth of knowledge (DOK), leadership improvement practices and structures, data analysis models, and standards-based instruction and design.
