English Language Arts & Reading
The English Language Arts and Reading Support Service provides professional development and expert assistance to PK-12 teachers in the ESC Region 12 area. This service supports ELA/R teachers in enhancing their skills and content knowledge in the areas of reading, writing, oral and written conventions, listening and speaking, and research.
All professional development opportunities for the '18-19 school year have been carefully aligned, and purposefully designed to create opportunities for teachers of literacy from all grade levels to network, have meaningful conversations, and develop refined strategies that will promote and cultivate a culture of literacy for students across Region 12.
Explore the Love for Literacy Library web page to learn how to check out books (at no cost!) to support your work of promoting literacy, and a love of reading in students.
Register now for a day with Dr. Fisher and other experts addressing how to cultivate a culture of literacy in your classrooms and on your campus!
Dr. Douglas Fisher will speak during the morning keynote addressing how to "Make Literacy Visible" for your students, and in the afternoon, attendees will have the opportunity to participate in break-out sessions intentionally designed to provide educators with tools to cultivate a culture of literacy.
Please visit the Literacy Conference website for additional conference details, including more information on Dr. Fisher and his speaking topics.
All attendees will receive a copy of Dr. Fisher's book title, Visible Learning for Literacy, co-authored with Nancy Frey and John Hattie!
