TEA recently announced TXVSN grants to Texas public school campuses through To the Administrator Addressed correspondence dated March 15, 2017. Submission of the simple Letter of Intent (LOI) is due to the Texas Education Agency (TEA) by 5:00 p.m. April 24, 2017.

Eligible campuses* have a National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) designation as a rural campus locale and serve students in grades 7-12. Rural locale campuses may use grant funds to pay TXVSN catalog course costs for fall and spring courses for the 2017–2018 school year and for summer 2018. A portion of the funds may also be used for supplemental pay to provide student support and for some technology needed by students for participation in TXVSN courses. TXVSN Grants to Rural Schools are scheduled to be awarded in summer 2017.

Region 12 campus and/or district representatives who have questions about eligibility and the application process may request additional information and assistance from Lisa McCray, the TXVSN liaison at the Education Service Center Region 12.
