Educator Winners Share About Their Technology Grant Awards

WACO, Texas – The Education Service Center Region 12 Technology Foundation recently awarded nine school districts and one charter school with more than $71,000 in grant funds to support educational technology programs.

The new technology projects were imagined and submitted for review, based on the specific needs of students within each school.

  • Rapoport Academy received $8,809Next Gen STEAM Tech Masters Project
  • China Spring ISD's Intermediate School received $2,879Positive Productions
  • Waco ISD's Cedar Ridge PDS Elementary School received $7,816MERGing Augmented Reality with Hands-on-Learning
  • Itasca ISD's Middle and High Schools received $1,729Harmony in Music
  • Corsicana ISD's High School received $9,984 Sora-ing from Analog to Digital in 2022
  • Troy ISD's High School received $4,725Interactive STEM Projects
  • Troy ISD's Raymond Mays Middle School received $5,187Math with Oculus Quest
  • Academy ISD's Elementary School received $10,000The BUZZ Network
  • Rosebud-Lott ISD's Elementary School received $10,000Elementary Robotics Lab
  • Copperas Cove ISD's High School received $10,000Mechatronics for Engineering Science

 

Collectively, these funds will help 4,936 students in eight districts and one charter school across six counties. The grant funds will be used to purchase state-of-the-art equipment and technology to assist in learning through augmented reality, automation tech and video production.  

"The ESC Region 12 Education Technology Foundation became part of our vision ten years ago. To now present grant money that helps Region 12 schools place instructional technology in the hands of students is an exciting victory," commented ESC Region 12 Executive Director Jerry Maze, Ed.D. "We are proud to support our schools in their efforts to give all students first-class technology in the classroom."

Since its creation in 2012, the ESC Region 12 Technology Foundation has awarded more than $532,300 to area school districts and charter schools and served 23,566 students in Central Texas.
