Career & Technical Education
ESC Region 12 offers professional development, expert assistance and guidance in meeting Career and Technical Education (CTE) state and federal requirements.
Services include:
- Serve as a connection between the TEA and districts, offering the technical support needed for districts to create high-quality CTE programs. This includes enhancing academic and technical knowledge and skills, providing quality career counseling and guidance, overseeing teacher certification, and supporting career and technical education student organizations.
- The Region 12 CTE team is actively involved in assisting the establishment and expansion of local partnerships with Rural Pathway Excellence Partnerships (R-PEP).
- Provide technical assistance to districts on all areas of CTE, including Carl D. Perkins grant application and implementation process, Perkins Performance Indicators, and CCMR indicators under A-F Accountability.
- Coordinate and provide CTE professional development activities for teachers, administrators, curriculum specialists, and educators.
- Facilitate the establishment and upkeep of effective communication channels between district colleges, universities, workforce development boards, and the TEA CTE staff.
