School Safety encompasses so much and is an ever-growing field with each Legislative Session.
The ESC Region 12 team offers a one-stop shop for all things school safety to support districts in this work. These resources offer a variety of resources for school safety support. School safety includes responsibilities related to EOPs, IDAs, School Safety Audits, DVAs, campus climate, and mental health.
Our Services
School Safety Audit
School safety audits are reported to the Texas School Safety Center in 3-year cycles.
ESC Region 12 provides leadership and consultation to school districts for the successful completion of the audit process by providing multiple service options that may offer convenience and efficiency for school district personnel.
Services include:
- ESC Region 12 conducted audit
- Consultant guidance to complete audit
- Technical assistance in planning and supporting a safe and secure learning environment
School Safety Membership
School Safety Membership is the one-stop shop for all things school safety.
It offers a plentitude of school safety support and resources ranging from information sharing to action resulting in seamless support for school safety.
As school safety has grown, the responsibilities related have increased to include the EOPs, IDAs, School Safety Audit, and DVAs. Let us help!

Emergency Operation Plans are state mandated. It is comprised of the basic plan and supplemented by the annexes to address various emergencies.

FMCSA Drug And Alcohol Clearinghouse
The Clearinghouse is a secure online database that gives employers, the FMCSA, State Driver Licensing Agencies (SDLAs), and State law enforcement personnel real-time information about commercial driver’s license (CDL) and commercial learner’s permit (CLP) holders’ drug and alcohol program violations. An act of Congress directed the Secretary of Transportation to establish the Clearinghouse.

The Texas School Safety Center (TxSSC) is an official university-level research center at Texas State University and serves as a clearinghouse for the dissemination of safety and security information through research, training, and technical assistance for K-12 schools and junior colleges throughout the state of Texas.

Abuse & Trafficking
The Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) has a central place to report child abuse and neglect, or abuse, neglect, self-neglect, and exploitation of the elderly or adults with disabilities living at home.
If you suspect abuse or neglect of any kind, call the Abuse Hotline toll-free 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, nationwide, or report with the secure DFPS website and get a response within 24 hours.
