Everyone should have the chance to live as independently as possible, making their own decisions about how their needs are met. You should get to choose where you live and work, what you eat, who your friends are, what you do for fun, and so much more! But to live more independently, you might need a little help. Here are some places to find that help.

One of the top predictors of adult success is having good self-advocacy skills. I'm Determined has a TON of resources to help, including the Toolbox for Self-Determination.

A great start is taking a leadership role in your own meetings, ARD/IEP or 504. Your school's TED (Transition Employment Designee) can help! Every school district in Texas has a TED, just ask!
