How do I see what books are available?

Click on the "Explore & Check Out" tab, and the "View Available Titles" button will take you to a listing of the library's books.

How do I check out books?

The Love for Literacy Library is housed at the Service Center, and the ESC ELAR team will serve as your "librarians." Fill out the Google Form, which will notify the ELAR team of what title you'd like to check out, and when you or a colleague will be at the Service Center. You will receive an email from an ELAR specialist following up with details on how to pick up your books once you arrive at the Service Center.

Can I still check out books if I won't be at the Service Center to pick them up?

You may have a colleague pick up your book set, with the understanding that the books are being checked out to you, and are therefore your responsibility. If no one from your campus or district is going to be at the Service Center, still complete the Google Form, and an ESC specialist will contact you to explore other options. The ELAR team will work with you to try and find a solution, but there is no formal transportation service set up for the library at this time, so no guarantees may be made.

Where can I find teacher resources for the book set I checked out?

The Love for Literacy Library does not at this time offer teacher resources. If you are a TEKS Resource district, or a TexQuest district, those resources provide direction on alignment to the TEKS, and teaching resources/materials.

How do I know if I’m a TexQuest district?

Check with your librarian or media specialist, and they will know if your district pays for the TexQuest services. You may also email Denetra Moore to inquire.

How do I know if I'm a TEKS Resource district?

Your campus instructional leaders should be able to indicate whether or not your district pays for the TEKS Resource service. You may also email Lisa Cisneros to inquire.

What should I do if my question isn't addressed here?

Please email Michelle Dalrymple or Brittany Thomas, and they will be sure to answer any questions you may have!
