06/01/2023

WACO, TexasEducation Service Center Region 12 won state recognition at the annual Texas Schools Public Relations Association Star Awards Banquet held earlier this year.

The Customer and Marketing Services Department won Gold Star awards for their work on the Texas Education Agency Commissioner’s Presentation, highlighting the impact of the center’s work on serving educators and school personnel. The second award was for a marketing campaign to promote MyESC Network, a website where educators can view prepaid and discounted training.

The team also received a Silver Star award for the design of an identity package for Chilton ISD and a Crystal Certificate of Merit for the promotional campaign honoring Regional Teachers (and nominees) and the Region 12 Superintendent of the Year. The Chilton ISD Rise Identity Package launched Chilton ISD’s new strategic plan with consistent imagery and concise communications tools to reinforce the district’s philosophy. The Regional Teacher and Superintendent of the Year campaign honored winners and nominees through multiple channels. Recognition included surprise presentations, campus banners, teacher yard signs, a live spotlight at a Baylor football game, highlight video and magazine ads.

“We are honored to be recognized for our communications efforts, both for work we are doing to engage educators and work on behalf of school leaders for work in their communities,” said Dr. Jerry Maze, executive director of ESC Region 12.

Each year TSPRA recognizes outstanding education communications and projects from members in print, video, electronic, campaigns and event categories.

“We had one of the highest numbers of entries this year with 1,692 submissions,” said Janet Crock, TSPRA programs manager.

Entries are judged by Texas public relations, marketing, video production and graphics professionals using a standard set of evaluation criteria based on professional industry standards.
