WHAT: An Evening of Art will feature students and their artwork with a short presentation, performance by the University Show Choir from Waco ISD, and light refreshments, followed by a gallery walk. Art includes work in pastels, pencil sketches, illustrations, watercolor, photography and more.
"The Art Gala is an opportunity for educators, families and the community to celebrate talented young artists from across the region," said Education Specialist Larissa Mezynski, who is also serving as event coordinator. "Displaying student art is a powerful way to foster students' enthusiasm in learning to use their skills to represent themselves and their school well, while connecting with and investing in their community."
WHO: 123 elementary, middle and high school students from 74 area schools (in Region 12) whose artwork adorns ESC Region 12 hallways, along with their parents, teachers and/or principals.
WHEN: 6-7:30 p.m., Thursday, April 21, 2022
6:00 p.m. – Welcome by Dr. Jerry Maze
6:05 p.m. – Highlighting Fine Arts by Larissa Mezynski
6:15 p.m. – Teacher & Student Recognition
6:45 p.m. – Closing Remarks

WHERE: ESC Region 12, 2101 W Loop 340, Waco, Texas 76712 (Open to invited guests only. ESC Region 12 will live stream the ceremony on their Facebook page, beginning at 5:55 p.m. and continue throughout the event.)
ADDITIONAL INFO: Once every four years, Education Service Center (ESC) Region 12 swaps out the artwork adoring the hallway walls with new, original works of art from students in our region.
In the week following the event, a virtual art gallery will be available on the ESC website.
