WACO, Texas - Arash Abnoussi, General Education Education Specialist, has been named President-Elect of the Texas Council of Teachers of Mathematics (TCTM). TCTM's mission focuses on the areas of recruiting and retaining mathematics teachers, supporting curriculum and instruction, advocating education policy and communicating with teachers. He will also serve as the Texas partner affiliate to the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM), as well as the National Council of Supervisors of Mathematics (NCSM). Abnoussi previously served as the President of the Central Texas Council of Teachers of Mathematics(CTCTM) from 2018-2020. 

Abnoussi has been with Education Service Center Region 12 for 5 years. Prior to his role here, he served as a classroom teacher and Mathematics Instructional Specialist at Midway ISD. In his role at ESC Region 12, Abnoussi provides coaching and training to math educators across Central Texas.
