The Texas Virtual School is a web-based learning initiative designed to meet the needs of Texas public school students and educators. Its mission is to provide extended and flexible learning opportunities for secondary students and educators through web-based programs. Schools can only enroll students for credit and not-for-credit courses. Educators can enroll in professional development sessions covering an array of topics and roles within the school setting. Whether it is an advanced course for a middle school student, a summer course for an early high school graduate, or a new leadership skill for a beginning administrator, the Texas Virtual School can bring expanded learning opportunities to any school. In addition, learners have flexibility in attending and completing web-based programs. Learning occurs where and when the learner’s schedule permits. Classes are:
