
ESC Region 12 offers four options for technical
support to Region 12 districts for troubleshooting and maintenance
of technology within local area networks:
On-Site Hourly Support
ESC Region 12 Technical Team members are available
to travel to your district to provide on-site technical support.
Phone Support
ESC Region 12 Technical Team members provide
phone support for technical issues.
Technical Support Equipment Contracts
Region 12 schools may contract with ESC Region
12 for support of district equipment. This contract covers
support of local area network equipment / services for a one-year
period including regular maintenance and upgrades with up
to 3 resolutions per device. Acceptance of contract is subject
to evaluation by ESC tech staff based upon quality, age, prior
use, and number of services supported.

On-site Technical Support Technician
Region 12 schools may contract with ESC Region
12 for an On-site Technical Support Technician for one or
more days per week. Districts desiring to receive support
on specialized services including RSCCC, Win School, eClass
Grades, Attendance, AEIS IT, and / or TEKStar must contract
for 2 or more days.
Purpose:
To maintain and support technology on the local area network
including file servers, workstations, connection devices,
and desktop/network operating systems.
Technician Qualifications:
Associates Degree in Computer Technology, Novell and / or
Microsoft / Cisco Certifications
Special Knowledge / Skills:

Experience with installation, upgrading,
configuration, and diagnostic evaluation of computer hardware/software
and peripherals

Experience in Local Area Network support
and diagnostic evaluation

Ability to work around people with varied
levels of computer experience
Experience:
Minimum 2 years maintaining local area networks and equivalent
experience in data communications and microcomputer hardware/software.
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Maintain Novell and Windows NT local area networks, maintain
network connectivity (cables / wiring), support e-mail systems,
and web servers, and help with the overall direction and technology
planning for each district. Provide desktop support for Windows
95, 98, 2000 as time permits.
