Admission is based on the following: Last 60 Hours GPA or cumulative GPA Content GPA THEA/PPST Scores/TSI Interview Writing Sample

To become a TPCP intern, all applicants must meet the following requirements:

• Complete an application form ($75 non-refundable fee)

• Provide official transcripts from each college/university attended. All foreign transcripts must be translated and evaluated. A list of approved foreign evaluation agencies is available at http://www.sbec.state.tx.us/SBECOnline/certinfo/forcredevalservice.asp

• Hold a bachelor's degree or higher from an approved accredited institution of higher education with either a cumulative grade point average of 2.5 or above on a four-point system or a 2.5 or above grade point average in the last 60 hours of college coursework taken

• Have the required block of semester hours (see Certification Areas) for the desired certification with a grade point average of 2.5 or higher on a four-point system in that required block.

• Demonstrate basic skills proficiency with one of the following:
  • THEA
  • PPST (out of state applicants)
  • TSI (Texas State Initiative)

All applicants must successfully pass a scored interview and writing sample

• Submit to a criminal history check

Being accepted into the TPCP does not guarantee employment by a school district
