School Bus Driver Certification
The 20-hour Certification Course is required of new
school bus drivers, and the 8-hour Re-Certification
Course is required as an update every three years. The
classes offered meet the requirements of the Texas Department
of Public Safety for all school bus drivers in Texas.
Safety issues, responsible driving techniques, student
loading/unloading procedures, student management, and
emergency procedures are discussed. There is an overview
of state laws affecting school bus transportation. Each
participant will receive a state approved course guide.
Operation Lifesaver
Highway rail grade crossing safety presentations are
offered for all age groups. In an effort to reduce /
eliminate train collisions with vehicles and pedestrians,
these presentations increase awareness of the dangers
on and around trains and railroad tracks.
Student Safety
Knowledge of student safety on and around the bus and
emergency evacuation procedures are a must for all students.
Presentations are offered for all grade levels. |
