School safety is a concern among parents and educators nationwide and a top priority at ESC Region 12. Our school safety services include prevention, preparedness, response and recovery. Prevention is addressed through the federal Title IV Safe & Drug-Free Schools program. Preparedness, response and recovery support are offered to districts through crisis management services.

Title IV Safe & Drug-Free Schools program includes:

• Title IV Safe & Drug-Free Schools Co-Operative
• School Safety Day (with Texas School Safety Center and Texas Attorney General’s Office)
• Bullying Prevention and Intervention Seminars and Workshops
• DAVE Curriculum and Drug Awareness Seminars and Workshops
• Gang Prevention Workshops and Services

Crisis Management services include:

• School Safety Evaluations
• Crisis Management Seminars and Workshops
• Threat Assessment Team Training
• Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) Training (student restraint model)
• Region 12 Crisis REcovery Team Training
• National Organization for Victim Assistance (NOVA) Training
• Region 12 Crisis Recovery Team On-Site Recovery Assistance
