The Education Service Center
Region 12 Office of Public Information is your online
resource for Region 12 communications. The office provides
announcements, directories, online newsletters, maps
and satellite office locations, program information,
in-house publications, and resources. In addition, the
staff maintain a positive relationship with media, district,
and regional ESC communications contacts. The staff
assist districts and charter schools in writing and
releasing news releases and media advisories. Below
is an overview of services offered provided by the Office
of Public Information.

Media Relations
The office is responsible for center press releases
and and regional announcements. Media inquiries of ESC
Region 12 staff should be directed to this department.

Community Relations
The office distributes information and brochures
to administrators, educators, and the community. A database
of regional media contacts is available by contacting
the Office of Public Information at 254-297-1198 or
publicinfo@esc12.net.
Severe Weather Media Alerts
The office provides severe weather media codes for
districts to use for school cancellations, school
opening delays,
or early/late releases in the event of severe weather
conditions. Media alerts are updated every fall.

Employee Communications
The office is responsible for producing the
ESC Insider, a bi-monthly online internal newsletter,
which communicates center news, policy, staff birthdays,
upcoming events, and more.
Regional Publications
The office is responsible for the publication of various
printed material, including At A Glance,
the Region 12 Employee & Superintendent
Directory, ESC Programs & Services Brochure and
more.
ESC Staff Calendar
The office provides a yearly calendar that
summarizes ESC holidays, staff training days, floating,
holidays, and staff meeting days.
Web site
The office oversees the ESC Website. The primary
purpose of the website is to communicate and describe
services available to districts and charter schools
within the region and enable educators and the community
to obtain or participate easily in those services.
Secondarily, it is the intention of the ESC
to offer timely information regarding proven instructional
methods through its Announcements and Resources / Best
Practices section. Please e-mail the Webmaster with
any comments or suggestions.
Special Events
The department helps center staff with the
planning, publicizing, and development of special events
such as the Annual Teachers & Superintendent of
the Year Awards Ceremony, the Annual Region 12 Job Fair,
and the Annual Administrators' Dinner. |
