ESC Region 12 ~ Professional Development and Appraisal System

PDAS is the Texas's approved instrument for appraising teachers and identifying areas for staff development. Cornerstones of the process include a minimum of one 45-minute observation and completion of the Teacher Self-Report form.

PDAS includes 51 criteria from the eight domains reflecting the Proficiencies for Learner-centered Instruction by the State Board for Educator Certification (SBEC).

Programs and Services

PDAS Appraisal Certification is a three day training for administrators. Prerequisite training: ILD.
PDAS New Teacher Orientation is for teachers new to PDAS. It must be completed within first three weeks of school. No prerequisite.
