Preschool Program for Children with Disabilities

The primary focus of the Preschool Program for Children with Disabilities service is to provide teachers and administrators specific training and consultative services in accordance with the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act of 2004, and evidence-based practices in Early Childhood Education.

TEA Data Collection Schedule

State Performance Plan Indicator 6 reports the percent of children aged 3 through 5 with IEPs attending a:

A. Regular early childhood program and receiving the majority of special
education and related services in the regular early childhood program; and
B. Separate special education class, separate school or residential facility.

State Performance Plan Indicator 7 reports the percent of preschool children with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) who demonstrate improved: 

  • Positive social-emotional skills (including social relationships); 
  •  Acquisition and use of knowledge and skills (including early language/communication and early literacy); and 
  • Use of appropriate behaviors to meet their needs.
Application opens March 1, 2017, and closes August 16, 2017
