"13 Reasons Why" Resources for Educators & Upcoming Session
04/25/2017

The trending Netflix series 13 Reason Why based on a young adult novel of the same name is raising concerns in schools about youth suicide and potential risk factors in students’ lives. The series revolves around 17-year-old Hannah Baker, who takes her own life and leaves behind audio recordings for 13 people who she says in some way were part of why she killed herself.

In response to the concerns raised by this series, ESC Region 12's Counseling Specialist Jeni Janek has created an infographic with resources for educators (below) and will host a session for counselors, teachers and administrators on Tuesday, May 23, with clinical psychologist Dr. Hap LeCrone to discuss the popular new Netflix show and the potential impact it may have on students. Register for the session. >
