The School Nurse program at Education Service Center Region 12 seeks to provide school nurses with the most current information available. In the ever changing world of student health, it is vital that nurses receive up-to-date information. The School Nurse Program provides training sessions which will include hands-on experience and courses that refresh previously learned material.

Sessions provided by the Health / P. Specialist at ESC Region 12 sites include:

• American Heart Heartsaver - CPR / First Aid Training
• Vision screening certification and recertification
• Hearing screening certification and recertification
• Immunization Updates
• Scoliosis screening certification
• New school nurse training
• Summer school nurse institute
• Establishing staff wellness programs
• Establishing a School Health Advisory Council (SHAC)
