ESC Region 12 ~ Migrant

The purpose of the Region 12 Migrant Education Program is to provide supplemental services to migrant students whose education is or has been interrupted as a result of their mobile lifestyle. Students who are recently mobile, highly mobile (moving from state to state), LEP, over-age, and have failed one or more sections of the state assessment test are priority for services students. We work closely with students, teachers, and parents to plan instruction and provide a support base for these students. ( Reference NCLB Section 1304d) We work to identify and recruit all eligible migrant students year round. Funding is based upon identification and recruitment of migrant families. All services provided to migrant students are based upon the Seven Areas of Focus: Migrant Coordination of Services Identification and Recruitment Early Childhood Graduation Enhancement Parental Involvement Secondary Credit Accrual New Generation System Region 12 Migrant Shared Service Arrangement TEA: Migrant Division (off site)
