| iTEKStar © is a web-base
curriculum planning, communication, and tracking tool
for the TEKS. It includes over 3,000 daily activities
in science, English Language Arts, social studies,
and mathematics. Some lessons do exist in other content
areas but are limited. The database includes all of
the Student Expectations (SEs) for the TEKS so every
teacher can use the system to develop/record their
units. The correlations to the TAKS are developed in
the database. The system is designed for teachers to
build, copy, and edit their own lessons automatically
and build their planner either daily, weekly, monthly,
or yearly. The system automatically tracks the TEKS
that each teacher has taught.
iTEKStar © provides a forum
for communicating with other teachers and enables teachers
to develop units for submission to the iTEKSTAR © curriculum
committee for review and / or selection. If the units
are selected, the teacher is paid up to $200 for the
unit, and the unit is added to the master database
for all Texas teachers to access.
