The Instructional Media Center is a central
library of educational resources available to participating
districts, charter schools and private schools. Instructional
Media Center Services include on-line and in-house collections
of curriculum aligned resources to enhance student achievement.
The MEDIA-ON-DEMAND on-line collection includes:
- 2,500 full-length videos available for download
(in full-length videos or divided into core concept
video clips) via the web free of charge, or in VHS,
CD or DVD format for a charge of $10/recording. Recordings
made on VHS, CD or DVD may be kept on campus as long
as your campus contracts with ESC 12 for Instructional
Media Services.
- 4,000 curriculum-oriented audio files
- 25,000 high-resolution photographs, illustrations,
and clip art images produced for the classroom
- 5,000 print resources, including teacher's guides
and worksheets
- 4,000 online resources related to specific titles
- Programs correlated to state and national standards
- Current content for all K-12 subject areas: social
studies, science, language arts, literature, math,
guidance, health, and more—plus the largest
collection of music, art, and children's literature
titles in the industry
The in-house collection includes:
- CDs, Videos and DVDs that support
TEKS and TAKS
- Online Access for School and Home Use to "Facts
on File"
- Unlimited access to circulating materials
- Online ESC 12 Instructional Media
Services Catalog ($3 million value)
- Videotape duplication for school
library use, which includes MARC records for library
automation system (videotapes may be kept on campus
as long as your campus/district contracts with ESC
12 for Instructional Media Center Services)
- Puppets
- 70 adorable animal and character puppets to share!
Puppets are used frequently in Language Arts programs
for storytelling, teaching syllabication, creative
writing assignments and puppet shows.
MEDIA-ON-DEMAND Training of Trainers Schedule
Training sessions for the MEDIA-ON-DEMAND
program will be held at ESC 12 in Waco. Each
participating school may send one person to a TOT session
for free. Others from the same school may attend for
a fee of $35/each. Sessions will include an overview
of the program highlighting search features and application
ideas for the classroom. Please register
online for these sessions.
Laminating
Film
ESC Region 12 offers laminating film for purchase by
any Region 12 district/school through the Instructional
Media Center at a discounted price. Delivery is free
of charge via regularly scheduled ESC 12 Truck Routes.
The 1.5ml thick laminating film rolls are 25 inches
wide by 500 feet long. For more information on this
