Our Counselors’ Council Co-op offers
the latest training, technical assistance,
informational updates, legislative mandates and networking with other professional counselors.
Workshops are free for members and include:
- Ethical and legal implications in the field
of counseling
- Licensed Professional Credit (LPC)
hours as well as Continuing Professional Education (CPE) credits
- The Developmental Guidance Program
required of all schools as stated in SB 158
- Materials
and programs that assist counselors in the performance
of their counseling duties and keep them updated on legislative mandates
- Graduation Plans, Academic Achievement Record (AAR), Achieve Texas and GEAR Up information
- Collaboration
with education specialists in Special Education,
Safe and Drug Free Schools, ESL, CTE, Title I, School
Nurses, Parent Involvement, Accountability, and Core
Curriculum in offering workshops for counselors
- “Best
Practices” counseling programs for counselors
