Your participation will enable your district personnel to receive the following beneficial Bilingual/ESL services: • Free online norm-referenced tests (Grades 3-12 only) • ESL strategies that close the language gap • Strengthening the reading, writing and learning of ELL students • Assessing Second Language Learners • Teaching Second Language Learners in the mainstream classroom • Language Proficiency Assessment Committee (LPAC) and Oral Language Proficiency Test (OLPT) training • Completion of the SAS application, amendments and evaluation • Assistance in meeting state and federal requirements • Technical assistance with Performance-Based Monitoring related to Title III • Training sessions to prepare teachers for accountability requirements (i.e., LAT, TELPAS) • ESL Academy I to prepare teachers new to Second Language Learning • ESL Academy II to support experienced bilingual/ESL teachers • Secondary ESL content training • Sheltered Instruction Institute • Bilingual/ESL Directors’ meetings • Leer Mas • Administrator training on ESL/Bilingual issues Bilingual ~ ESL Services
