GEAR UP Regional "Prep Rally" to Feature Singer Holly Tucker, Speaker Aric Bostick

Waco singer Holly Tucker, who appeared on the 2013 Season 4 NBC hit reality show The Voice, will sing for an expected 2,000 students and educators during the Education Service Center Region 12 GEAR UP “Prep Rally” event from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 2, at the Bell County Expo Center in Belton.

GEAR UP is a program designed to help more young Americans stay in school, develop good study skills, and attend post-secondary education programs and colleges to ensure workforce readiness. The special GEAR UP “Prep Rally” will motivate and encourage students and educators to remain committed and work hard to make their dreams a reality.
Featured speaker Aric Bostick, one of the nation’s top motivational speakers and success trainers, will challenge students to dig deep, find the strength and determination to work toward their future plans, and have the hope and ability to change their lives. He will inspire students to remain dedicated to personal achievement through success in education.
“Students can hear that hard work and dedication to personal goals can lead to success,” said Jenipher Janek, ESC Region 12 Education Specialist, of the event. “We are pleased to have a partnership with individuals who incorporate education into their lives as an important tool for achievement."
Bostick has the energetic ability to inspire teens and adults from all walks of life. He encourages teens to believe in themselves and teaches them how to set goals and follow their dreams. Bostick has travelled all over the United States, sharing the tools needed to live a fulfilling, successful life. He believes every student can achieve his or her goals when given the motivation and necessary means to do so.
Participating districts include: Blum, Bynum, Corsicana, Connally, Covington, Groesbeck, Hillsboro, Hubbard, Kerens, Killeen (Audie Murphy, Smith, Palo Alto, Manor & Nolan Middle School), Kopperl, Lampasas, Lometa, Mexia, Moody, Oglesby, Rosebud-Lott, Star, Temple (Travis, Bonham & Lamar Middle School), Walnut Springs and Whitney ISD.
