ESC Region 12 provides supplemental
braille materials for districts within the region. Supplemental
materials may include short stories, workbooks, lecture
notes, TAKS practice sheets, worksheets, and novels.
Math and science materials are available in Nemeth braille
code as well.
Materials Request Process:
Complete braille request form describing the work:
Include detailed instructions for completing the work
order.
Example: Student reads only double-spaced braille.
Student needs modified instructions to complete a
worksheet.
If no instructions are included, all materials will
be provided in contracted braille with appropriate
headings.
Timeline:
Two weeks minimum to complete a braille request.
Requests of more than 25 pages will range from three
to six weeks.
Cost:
Region 12 districts and cooperative members will receive
up to 200 braille pages at no charge. After 200 pages,
a
charge
of $2.50
a
braille
page for literary materials and $3.75 a braille page
for Nemeth materials will apply.
