| ESC Region 12 is dedicated to providing
quality information, education, and resources to parents,
professionals, community and school personnel involved
in the lives of individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders
(i.e. autism, Asperger Syndrome/high functioning autism,
PDD/NOS).
Professional development opportunities are presented
in a variety of formats including workshops, professional
presentations, make and take work sessions, comprehensive
structured teaching method trainings and conference
information. ESC Region 12 encourages parent participation
in our trainings and our workshop fees are waived for
parents of students with autism. A small autism resource
library is also available at the Center. In addition,
general information about Autism Spectrum Disorders,
technical assistance and consultation regarding specific
issues are available to individual school districts
and/or campuses upon request.
F.A.C.E.S. Curriculum: F.A.C.E.S.
is a curricular framework for teachers of students
with moderate to severe or profound disabilities.
F.A.C.E.S. is correlated to the TEKS.
