Temple ISD Hosts Community Rally
Oct. 4 to Inform Families About New Opportunities
From the Federal GEAR UP Grant
| WHAT: |
To kick-off the start
of Education Service Center (ESC) Region 12's GEAR
UP grant, Temple ISD will host a community rally
event for all middle school families in the district
to hear more about what the grant means for them
and their students. Featured speaker Jonathan Grant
Brown will share what it takes to be a motivating
parent. Along with his address to the community,
he will visit middle school campuses to speak with
kids about his life and how he overcame obstacles
to be successful. Brown is originally from Central
Texas and overcame a challenging upbringing to
be successful. ESC Region 12 was awarded the federal
GEAR UP grant for Temple ISD, along with other
districts around the Region 12 area. This grant
provides access to many different programs for
the current seventh and eighth-grade students
graduating in 2017 and 2018. |
