Area Math Teachers to be Honored at February 16th Ceremony

WACO, Texas – Thirty-four distinguished math educators will be recognized at Education Service Center (ESC) Region 12’s Honoring the Teachers ceremony to be held from 9 - 11:30 a.m., Tuesday, February 16th, at 2101 W. Loop 340.

While having mentored other teachers, the honorees obtained 75 hours of training within the last year. Training included areas involving the latest methods and techniques to engage students in math learning experiences. Mentors will assist other teachers on how to incorporate these methods and techniques into their curriculum.

“We are proud to recognize the leadership and hard work of these educators,” said Charla Rudd, director of teaching and learning at ESC Region 12. “They are wonderful role models for their colleagues and students, as the area of math plays such an important role in education today.”

All honorees will be presented with a certificate of achievement and award plaque. Dr. Rose Cameron, Copperas Cove ISD superintendent and Region 12 Superintendent of the Year, will deliver the keynote.
