ESC Region 12 is hosting a session on Thursday, April 22, 2010 from 8:30 am to 12 pm to discuss Senate Bill 9 Fingerprinting for Certified Educators and Substitute Teachers. The session will provide detailed information on the upcoming district-wide fingerprinting scheduled for ESC Region 12 districts during the Fall of 2010. The intended audience for this meeting is anyone at the district who might be involved with the fingerprinting process.

Participants will receive information on:

• what districts should do to prepare for this process
• the steps involved with notifying certified employees and substitute teachers
• the process for having fingerprints taken during district visits by the Department of Public Safety's contracted vendor, L-1 Enrollment services.

It is extremely important that all districts who have not already been "printed" be represented at this meeting. Scheduled to present is Jeannie Tomasek, Manager for Fingerprinting with the Texas Education Agency.
