11th Annual Statewide Evaluation Conference (SWEP)
for Special Educators Scheduled for Feb. 7 - Feb.
9, 2008
Waco, Texas--“Exploring New Frontiers
in Evaluation” is the theme for the eleventh
annual Statewide Evaluation Conference for Special
Education Evaluation Personnel. This year’s conference
will be held Thursday, Feb. 7 through Saturday, Feb.
9, 2008, at the Westin Galleria Hotel in Houston, Texas.
SWEP is organized and hosted by the Statewide
Leadership for Evaluation which is a decentralized
function of TEA. ESC Region 12 is the lead for the
Statewide Leadership for Evaluation. This group is
represented by an evaluation specialist from each Education
Service Center across the state. The purpose of this
conference is to bring new information on evaluation
to school personnel and provide networking opportunities
with people across the state involved in the evaluation
of children with disabilities.
The keynote speaker will be Dr. Nancy
Mather who will present on Connecting Evaluations to
Intervention. Hot topics this year will include RTI,
CBM, overrepresentation of minority students in special
education, and legal experts just to name a few.
Last year’s conference was attended
by more than 800 participants! Register early and we
look forward to seeing you in Houston!
CPE credits will be offered to participants,
and TSHA CE credits are pending.
