Proposed Commissioner’s
Rules Concerning Special Education Services Released
WACO, TEXAS—The proposed Commissioner’s
Rules concerning Special Education were released
recently and have been published on the Texas Education
Agency web site at http://www.tea.state.tx.us/rules/commissioner/proposed/0407/89-1011-one.html.
They are published in Texas Register and will be
mailed to all superintendents, special education
directors, state agencies and statewide associations
and organizations. The
proposed amendments and repeal reflect changes required
by the Individuals with Disabilities Education Improvement
Act (IDEA 2004) Amendments of 2004.
The period for public comment is April 20, 2007
through June 19, 2007.
ESC Region 12 will host a come-and-go TETN
Public Hearing on May 23, 2007 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
concerning the proposed Commissioner's Rules on Special
Education Services. The session will be free and
is open to the public. Time will be provided for
public input concerning the proposed rules. If you
