ESC Region 12 to Host Fifth
Annual Middle School Conference
WACO, TEXAS – Education Service
Center (ESC) Region 12 is proud to announce the
Fifth Annual Region 12 Middle School Conference
scheduled from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Oct. 30th.
at ESC Region 12 in Waco. The one-day conference,
themed
“Bridging the Middle Years,” will
be packed with strategies and resources for middle
school teachers and administrators as well as
showcase best practices from Central Texas schools.
Presentations will include Professional
Learning Communities, Classroom Strategies That
Work, CSI in the Science Lab, and Inclusion for
All Students.
Jack Berckemeyer will be the keynote
speaker. Jack Berckemeyer is the assistant executive
director for the National Middle School Association.
He was a classroom teacher and is the editor of
NSA's Classroom Connections. Jack is known
for his humor and practical teaching advice. He
has worked with several schools and districts providing
effective strategies that meet the needs of young
adolescents.

is such an opportune time for leaders in the Region
12 area to network and share their very powerful
work,” said
Teresa Daughtery, committee chair and principal
of Fairway Middle School in Killeen ISD.
Conference registration is $25 per
participant, which includes a continental breakfast
