WACO, TEXAS— Schools searching for qualified individuals will be at the ESC Region 12 Job Fair on April 24th. Despite the cuts in school funding, good teachers, administrators, and support staff are still needed in area schools. At the present time, there are nearly 350 job openings in the Region 12 area which includes Bell, Bosque, Coryell, Falls, Freestone, Hamilton, Hill, Lampasas, Limestone, Mills, McLennan and Navarro counties.

Individuals looking for a job in education are encouraged to revise and update their resumes for the 13th Annual ESC Region 12 Education Job Fair. The job fair will be held from 2 p.m. - 5:30 p.m., Tuesday, April 24 at the Education Service Center (ESC) Region 12 at 2102 W. Loop 340 (Bagby & Hwy 6).

"We are proud to host a job fair that is free, open to the public and that will provide job opportunities to those interested in working in the education field specifically," said Leslie Bennett, Associate Executive Director of Human Resources and Certification Services.

Approximately 20 districts and charter schools in Central Texas will be recruiting for educational positions for the upcoming 2007-2008 school year. Job seekers should bring resumes, college transcripts, and all applicable education certificates. Participating schools will have information on available positions and some will conduct on-site interviews. Application forms for all participating school districts will be provided. Representatives from the Region 12 Educator Preparation and Certification (EPC) will also be available to visit with individuals who have their bachelors’ degrees and are interested in becoming teachers or who have their masters’ degrees and are interested in becoming principals. ESC Region 12’s Certification Manager will be available to answer questions regarding certification issues.
