TEXTBOOKS OPEN TO PUBLIC
REVIEW
WACO, TEXAS-- The
Education Service Center Region 12 announces public
access to materials in the forthcoming 2006-2007 textbook
adoption cycle as designated by Proclamation 2004 of
the State Board of Education. Local district school
boards will consider the textbooks from various vendors
for approval for use in the 2006-2007 school year.
Textbooks for upper level math are now available for
educators, parents and citizens to preview at the ESC
Region 12, located at 2101 W. Loop 340 in Waco. Textbooks
will be available for review Monday through Thursday
from 8:30-3:30.

One of 20 centers throughout
Texas, the Education Service Center (ESC) Region 12
assists 78 independent school districts in attaining
the Texas Education Agency’s
goals and objectives. Based in Waco, the ESC Region
12’s service area includes Bell, Bosque, Coryell,
Falls, Freestone, Hamilton, Hill, Lampasas, Limestone,
Mills, McLennan, and Navarro counties.
The ESC Region 12 offers an array

information systems, alternative teacher certification
training, TEKS curriculum consulting, distance learning
videoconferencing, e-mail services, Internet access,
ESL and migrant student identification, instructional
media, special education support services, a technology
preview center, Title I federal grant implementation
support, and vocational career counseling.
The ESC Region 12 also specializes in professional
development training for school board members, administrators,
teachers, counselors, nurses, paraprofessionals, and
other education staff. There are more than 17,500 educators
and more than 132,000 students in Region 12.
