TECHNOLOGY SUPPORT CONFERENCE
SCHEDULED FOR OCT. 27 IN WACO
WACO, TEXAS —The
second annual “Meeting
the Challenge: Foundations of Technology Support” conference
is scheduled from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Oct. 27
at Education Service Center (ESC) Region 12 in Waco.
ESC Region
12 is
partnering with the Austin chapter of the Help Desk Institute (HDI Austin)
and the Texas Association of School Boards (TASB) to provide attendees with
tools
and techniques that will lower support costs and solve computer problems more
efficiently.
“ESC Region 12, TASB and HDI Austin teamed together
to provide the education, government and business
communities in Central Texas with the kind of experience
you normally have to travel long distances and
spend a substantial amount of money to receive. This conference
will benefit those in technology support positions
because it addresses the challenges they deal with
every day and will help them provide faster, better,
and cost-effective technology support. The end
result will be better use of technology in education and
business,” said Martha Lundgren, the department
director of the Information Center for TASB.
The conference will include training sessions which will address three key areas:
evaluating benefits of IP communications, understanding and supporting wireless
networks and devices and security updates. In addition, participants will receive
a six-month free trial membership in the Help Desk Institute.
The cost of the conference is $65 and attendance is open to the public. Registration
is available at www.esc12.net/techconf. For more information call Mike Nolan
at 254/297-1260 or mnolan@esc12.net.
