Technology Applications Teacher
Network (TATN) Event Moved to TCEA Area 12 Conference
on November 12
The Technology Applications (K-12) Teacher Network
Event will be combined with the TCEA Area 12 Conference
and moved to November 12, 2005 at Connally High School
at 900 North Lacy in Waco, Texas.
According to NCLB, all districts must fully integrate
technology into the curricula and instruction in all
schools by December 31, 2006 to enhance teaching and
learning. In addition, according to Senate Bill (SB)
815 Technology Applications is now a “required”
curriculum and all school districts, as a condition
of accreditation, must provide instruction in the
Technology Applications TEKS.
This event modeled after the TATN event held at
the TCEA State Convention in February provides an
opportunity for teachers to gather ideas from model
teachers in the region on how to effectively integrate
the Tech Apps TEKS.
This event will offer four different sessions in
each of three strands: K-2, 3-5, and 6-8. Eight different
sessions will be offered in the 9-12 high school tech
apps courses.
"We are looking for classroom teachers who are
doing an outstanding job implementing the Tech Apps
TEKS in their classroom to present at these sessions.
They will be paid a stipend of $50 for their participation
as presenters, " says Lisa McCray.
If you are integrating Technology Applications into
your classroom and would be willing to present a session
at this great event, there is still time. Please email
Lisa McCray
by October 24.
