|
“11th Anniversary Celebration: Paraprofessionals...You
Rock!” is
the theme for the 11th
Annual Region 12
Paraprofessional Celebration. The conference will be held
Wednesday, April 13 and Thursday, April 14, 2005 at Education
Service Center (ESC) Region 12, in Waco.
This special event will give participants
the opportunity to meet and exchange ideas
with colleagues and
obtain continuing professional education credit. The Celebration
will focus on topics ranging from student related subjects
to personal self-improvement areas. Participants will find
sessions enabling them to enhance their NCLB Highly Qualified
skills to assist with reading, writing and math instruction
in the classroom as well.
Participants will learn how to assist teachers
to improve student achievement, work efficiently and effectively
in a school setting, and manage emergency situations. They
will also learn how to develop and maintain relationships
with students and parents, but most importantly, participants
will celebrate their unique and vital role in educating ALL
children.
The sessions held on April 14 (Day 2) are
a repeat of sessions held on April 13 (Day 1), so participants
have the choice to come to either day. The opening address
"Humorous Heartwarming Songs," will be
presented by Tom Taylor of Killeen ISD.
The
closing
address will be presented by Ann Harder, anchor woman for
KXXV Channel 25. The event costs $65, which includes a continental
breakfast and afternoon snacks.
Individuals interested in attending the event
must register on-line by April 8th
