ESC REGION 12 TO HOST TECHNOLOGY
CAREER DAY FOR
HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS ON OCT. 24
WACO, TEXAS — Hundreds of area high school
students will have the opportunity to discover the
diverse world of technology careers at Careers About
Technology (CAT) day from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Oct.
24 at ESC Region 12, in Waco. CAT day is a free,
hands-on, interactive technology career day for 9th
and 10th grade students, parents and teachers.
Thirty-four business and college representatives
will be on hand to help students learn more about
this exciting career field. From building aeronautic
engines to using GIS to position space equipment,
students will able to see and discuss careers that
are related to technology and manipulate equipment
and computers in numerous career choices. Courses
and certification required to enter into the career
world of technology will be available to students,
parents and teachers. Exhibitors include Baylor University,
McLennan Community College, Dell, L-3 Communications
and Xerox.
More than 600 students are registered to attend
CAT day from the following school districts: Abbott,
Bosqueville, Chilton, Dawson, Lorena, Midway, Moody,
Morgan, Oglesby, Star and Wortham.
