ESC Region 12 to Host Third
Annual Middle School Conference
WACO, TEXAS – Education Service
Center (ESC) Region 12 is proud to announce the
Third Annual Region 12 Middle School Conference
scheduled from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Oct. 12. at ESC
Region 12, in Waco. The one-day conference, themed
“New Quest for the Middle Ages,” will
be packed with strategies and resources for middle
school teachers and administrators as well as showcase
best practices from Central Texas schools.
Presentations will include How the
Brain Learns, Accelerating At-Risk Kids, Learn It!
Do It! Share It!, Middle School Readers and School
Climate.
Kathy Hunt Ullock will be the keynote
speaker. She has received national and international
acclaim for her work with middle school teachers
and students. Kathy has been involved in middle
school education since 1973 as a math teacher, team
leader, curriculum coordinator, assistant principal,
director of staff development, and a consultant
based in Ohio, Florida, Colorado and Washington.
“The Middle School conference is such an opportune
time for leaders in the Region 12 area to network
and share their very powerful work,” said
Jimmy Cox, committee chair and principal of Troy
Middle School.

participant, which includes a continental breakfast
