“10th Anniversary Celebration: A Decade
of Making a Difference” is the theme for the 10th
Annual Region 12
Paraprofessional Celebration. The conference will be held
Wednesday, March 31 and Thursday, April 1, 2004 at Education
Service Center (ESC) Region 12, in Waco.
This special event will give participants the
opportunity to meet and exchange ideas with colleagues and
obtain continuing professional education credit. The Celebration
will focus on topics ranging from student related subjects
to personal self-improvement areas, such as fitness and personal
investments.
Participants will learn how to assist teachers
to improve student achievement, work efficiently and effectively
in a school setting, and manage emergency situations. They
will also learn how to develop and maintain relationships
with students and parents, but most importantly, participants
will celebrate their unique and vital role in educating ALL
children.
The sessions held on April 1 (Day 2) are a
repeat of sessions held on March 31 (Day 1), so participants
have the choice to come to either day. The opening address
"Laugh It Off," will be presented by Pat
Pewthers of Cedar Park High School in Leander. The closing
address will be presented by Charla Rudd, team leader
for ESC Region 12.
