MIDDLE SCHOOL CONFERENCE SCHEDULED FOR SEPT. 16

WACO, TEXAS – Education Service Center Region 12 and area schools are pleased to announce the second annual 2004 Region 12 Middle School Conference scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 16 at ESC Region 12, in Waco. The one-day conference will be packed with strategies and resources for middle school teachers and administrators as well as showcase best practices from Central Texas schools. Conference topics include: Curriculum/TEKS/TAKS, Special Education, At-Risk, Technology, Discipline, and Teaming/Scheduling.

“The Middle School conference will give teachers, principals, parents, and others interested in education a chance to dialogue and exchange successful initiatives from a 'grass roots' level. It is such an opportune time for leaders in the Region 12 area to network and share their very powerful work,” said Ray Deason, principal for Belton Junior High School.

“The conference presenters have hands-on and practical experience and we are extremely confident that participants will leave with invaluable and hands-on strategies to implement in their schools,” added Carol Saxenian, principal for Lake Air Middle School, in Waco.

Schools and districts registered for the conference include: Waco Baptist Academy, Abbott, Belton, Bruceville-Eddy, Connally, Copperas Cove, Corsicana, Gatesville, Groesbeck, Hico, Hillsboro, Hubbard, Kerens, Killeen, Lampasas, Mildred, Morgan, Mt. Calm, Rice, Robinson, Temple, Troy, Waco, Walnut Springs, and West ISD.
