Autism Academy To Be Held Aug.
11 – 13 In Waco

Education Service Center
(ESC) Region 12 will provide a three-day Autism
Academy to help educators, caregivers, and parents
provide successful school and home programs for
students diagnosed with Autism. |

| Facts: |
The three-day academy will
cover the basics of Autism, in-home training,
social competencies, visual strategies, and
communication and language.
Autism is a disorder that impairs communication
and social skills, and is a lifelong disability
that affects thought, perception, and attention.
It encompasses a broad spectrum of disorders
that may range from mild to severe. There are
also serious sensory challenges that accompany
autism.
The Annual State Conference on Autism will
be held Sept. 9 - 11 at ESC Region 2 in Corpus
Christi. |
